Midwest Labor Day Classic Scout Notes

Owen Collier (2028, Durant, Iowa) has a bigger and taller frame with some length to the build. There’s a feel for the actions on the mound and in the batters’ box. On the mound, he works from a higher three-quarters arm slot with some quickness through release. He worked the upper-70s with a feel for an 11/5-shaped breaking ball in the mix as well. Collier threw 6.0 innings, allowing 3 hits, striking out 9, and walking just 2 en route to a shut-out win. He also grabbed a couple of hits at the plate with fast hands and a quick path through contact to get the job done. Collier has an uber projectable 6-foot, 165-pound frame. 

Jaxson Kleespies (2028, Parkersburg, Ill.) is a 5-foot-8, right-handed hitter with a simple and clean operation at the dish. H
