Midwest Fall Classic Scout Notes

Brady Smith (2027, Grimes, Iowa) has a 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with a medium frame and build. Long and lean build with a leg lift up above the belt with a clean push down the stroke. Smith has a longer arm action with good whip downhill through release. He’s an efficient mover with a good operation, working down the mound well. The fastball has some arm-side life & run to it, spotting up the zone working east & west. He also flips an upper-60s breaking ball with a slurvy shape and depth to it. He mixed pitches well, and he was able to attack the opposition well. Smith threw 4.0 innings, allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, and 7 strikeouts to his credit.
