13u/14u/Freshman WWBA Preview

When the WWBA World Championships roll into Jupiter, Florida, that typically means West Palm Beach is about to get invaded with high end talent as well, though it’s from the incoming freshman class. Well, due to Hurricane Milton and the postponement in the start of both tournaments, WPB will now play host to both the WWBA Freshman World Championships as well as the 13u/14u WWBA World Championship, making it the true center of the youth baseball universe.

Starting with the youngest, the 13u WWBA is entering its fourth year of existence and should be slated for its best year yet in terms of talent and overall play. Fresh off their 12u seasons and making the transition to the 60/90 field while swinging wood bats, the field will be highlighted by a bevy of Select Festival alum with the likes of Tyler Early, Christopher Cabrera, Calvin Madenspacer, Mason Miller, Jesse Soberal Jr, Bryan Johnson Jr and Austin Coleman scattered throughout rosters, making this a “can’t miss” event. Need further evidence about just how juiced this field of competition is?  How about the top 7 ranked teams from the 12u End of the Season team rankings will all be in attendance, led by the nation’s No. 1 team in the Banditos out of Houston, Texas.

Jumping up to the 14u WWBA and it’s more of the same, if not even a more impressive collection of talent as 6 of the top 10 players are slated to be in attendance with No. 1 Tre’ Lawrence, No. 2 Easton O’Quinn and No. 3 Macgraw VanWormer all rostered and looking to continued off of their impressive 2024 summer circuit showings. Both the 13u National Player of the Year (O’Quinn) and the 13u National Pitcher of the Year, Alex Bello, will begin their defense of the awards while other players in West Palm, like so many before them, will use this opportunity to showcase their talents and begin their ascent up the rankings. Between the No. 1 ranked ZT National, No. 2 SBA Bolts and No. 5 South Charlotte Panthers, big titles from the 2024 summer circuit will be well represented as together, the trio of teams captured the PGI, Super National NIT, Beast of the East, WWBA and World Series and combined to go 117-26-1. Rounding things out is the eldest statesman of the three events, the WWBA Freshman World Championships which enters its 13th year and has continued to grow in popularity ever since the 2012 inception. Whatever you’re looking for, this crop of talent will provide. 90+ mph arm? Yep. Power bats who will make the fields look small? Certainly. Names you’ll be hearing about for the next handful of years as prep? There’s no doubt. Both the 14u Pitcher of the Year and the 14u Player of the Year will make the trip to the east coast of Florida in right-hander Chase Cotton and hard hitting Aiden Kearney and 8 of the top 10 ranked players will also be in attendance as Ethan Stewart, Bryan Mesa, Luke Esquivel, Colin Anderson, Striker Pence and Joel Vargas will be there to ball out. The SBA Bolts National, Canes National and Team Elite Black will bring insanely loaded rosters with them and will be focal points as the top three teams in the End of the Season 14u rankings while Bengals Baseball rounds out the quartet as they finished at No. 4 and have a pair of Top 100 prospects of their own coming in Cam Rakaczewski and Chase Potter

As always, you can follow along with all the action across Perfect Game’s social media platforms as the scouting staff will be out in full force, making sure we continue to provide a level of coverage to match the otherworldly display of talent we’ll see throughout the weekend.
