In just his second year at the helm J.D. Arteaga has landed top-10 classes in back-to-back years, something that hasn’t been done at Miami since 2014-2015. This staff has deep rooted ties to the hotbed around Miami and the state of Florida in general and they’ve taken advantage of those ties in recent years. Not much changes in this class but they’ve also done a great job of landing top end talent from all parts of the country in this 2025 class.

Running through this class, they have landed two of the top-5 bats in the state of Florida in PG All-Americans Mario Magana and Dylan Dubovik. Both bring incredible tools to the table with two of the highest ceilings in the entire class. The Miami footprint reaches all parts of the country and this class really shows it as they’ve dipped into California, Virginia, North Carolina, New York, and Texas to land some of the most talented bats in the country.

Pitching coach Laz Gutierrez has to be thrilled about the crop of arms the Canes have coming in this 2025 group. Leading the way is flame thrower Erick Peralta, who’s been up to 96 mph in previous outings and will surely get professional scout's attention in the spring. They’ve landed two highly ranked left-handers as well in Sebastian Santos-Olson and Lonzo Drummond, both who have been into the low-90s. They round out the arms with RHP Ronald Causby, LHP Jack Durso, and RHP Jake Lodgek.

There’s plenty of excitement and talent heading to Coral Gables in this 2025 group. From the exciting crop of bats to the power arms, this group is bound to lead to exciting times at Miami for years to come.
