Michael Scaletta is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Waxhaw, NC who attends Covenant Day. Medium athletic build. Works from a rhythmic toe tap delivery with a high hand start, gets down the mound well, slightly closed out front with a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the mid-80's and topped out at 88 mph early with some two-seam sink and run at times and glove side cut at others. Showed nice feel for his curveball and will add and subtract according to count, good 1/7 shape. Very efficient outing with 20 pitches to get 6 outs. Left handed hitter, sets up in a spread straight stance with a short stride into contact, can be more consistent with his timer/trigger, moves the ball around from an inside swing path. 7.05 runner in the sixty. Worked out in the outfield and at first base on defense, has some athleticism and actions at both positions, arm plays well, lower release slot than on the mound, profiles best in the outfield. Excellent student.
