Mark Hollonbeck is a 2027 OF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Desert View. Features a medium-sized lean build with some quality athleticism and room to add. Ran a 7.04 60-yd dash. In the OF, shows a slower/methodical process with his approach to the baseball. Waits back a bit before working into posture. Some glove taps and stops feet a bit into reception that is clean and out front. Extra gather and avg. transfer quickness into throws where he shows a noticeable stab in his arm action that gets off on-line throws with quality strength. At the plate, he sits in a wider base with hands that hang over home plate. Slight sway into his backside before using a simple leg lift trigger. Smaller takeback of the hands with some torso coil. Flashes of some above avg. bat/hand speed for his level but struggled with timing and barrel consistency. Approach was to catch out front and pull with best contact being LDs/FBs he sent out to left. On the mound, showed a clean and repeatable drop/drive type operation. Shorter arm action out the glove that worked up to a normal 3/4 slot. Worked fast. Ran the FB up to 82, living in the upper 70s that showed some normal 4S shape with flashes of some decent ride that produced whiffs up. Mixed in a slower breaker in the low 60s that he has developing feel for. Also threw a couple of low 70s CHs that flashed some quality fading action.
