Luke Blackwell is a 2026 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Valmeyer, IL who attends Valmeyer HS. Extra large frame with broad shoulders and lots of room for physical projection. Primary right-handed pitcher who only pitched during the event. Very quick arm and fires from a low arm slot with a low slot release. Fastball with low launch qualities and showing good ride, cut, and carry up at the top of the strike zone. Fastball got good swing-and-miss while also being dastardly to right-handed hitters. Lived arm side with the fastball and made the at-bat very uncomfortable to hitters of the same handedness. Slider showed mostly lateral movement with horizontal action. Could front door the pitch to right-handed hitters while also getting some chase away from righties with the pitch. Excellent student.
