Lucas Cox is a 2028 C/RHP/3B with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from China Grove, NC who attends South Rowan. Recorded a 7.93 second sixty yard dash time. Smaller frame. Primary catcher works from a slight side-straddle. Good idea of using legs in his stance. Throws were accurate with developing strength. Secondary infielder with confident feet and actions. Gets into great fielding positions with good hands. Also threw an inning on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works with simple actions down the mound and lands in-line with solid extension for the age. Medium length compact arm stroke with a three- quarter slot. Fastball was 70-74 and dotted to the glove side. Also flashed a curveball (1722 RPM) with some 12-6 shape and depth. Right-handed hitter starts from a medium base with a high back elbow and utilizes a coiling load and small leg lift. Average bat speed and works hands direct with a good bat path. Flashes of engaging the lower half with strong hands and extension through impact. Intriguing player with good upside as the frame adds more strength. Excellent student.
