2024 Sunshine Mid-South Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Griffin Whitmore is a 2025 RHP/SS/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Saint Charles, AR who attends Dewitt. Medium athletic build. High leg raise delivery with drop and drive mechanics down the mound, medium length arm stroke with a mid 3/4's arm slot, has a loose arm with some arm speed, works fast and throws strikes. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, velocity played up with some deception and consistent late sink and run. Curveball had good tightness and shape and froze some hitters. Good chance to throw hard as he matures physically. Very good runner, 6.61 in the sixty. Plays the outfield when not on the mound, has good glove work out front and works through the ball well into his throws, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base wit a toe tap load, busy swing approach, swing can get long and downhill at times, still developing consistency with his timing and overall approach, mid field contact when he's on time. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine Mid-South Showcase Top Prospect List.
