We've seen Perez many times over the last couple of years. We've seen him in the low 90s as high as 93 maybe even 94. He's a big kid who continually improves his body. He was actually over weight when we first saw him and he could still tone up a little more. The thing we've discovered about Perez is that he is going to do what it takes. He has championship caliber makeup and we expect him to be pitching and winning in the Big Leagues someday. In Ft Myers he was mostly 88-89, but the arm action and release were vintage Perez. Nobody in the country looks better at release point. The ball leaves his hand so clean and easy you would think he's flipping BP. His breaking ball will get better, but it's a good one with nice rotation. He throws it in the upper 70s and can throw it for strikes. He also has a good feel for his low 80s changeup. Perez will continue to progress and become very special. He's a backward projection in that he will become even more solid and strong without gaining weight. The arm action and makeup project off the charts.
