Blake Maestas is a 2027 C/RHP with a physical 6-3 200 lb. frame from Peyton, CO who attends Falcon High School. A primary catcher, secondary pitcher. Uses a side-saddle setup and stands straight up to throw. Solid transfer and throwing mechanics with plenty of room to improve with his footwork. Strong foundation as a backstop. Posted a 1.98 pop time to second base. On the mound, has a short arm action from a high 3/4 slot. 73-79 mph fastball possesses good downhill angle as well as occasional arm side run. Also mixes in a high 11/5 shaped curveball with solid depth and bite. Is not afraid to go back to back with the pitch. Stays tall throughout his motion and is at his best when working out in front. At the plate, uses an even and slightly open stance with a simple mid-leg lift trigger. Has a simple bat wag into his load and stays direct to the baseball. Elevated barrel plane through the zone generates natural launch angle. Present pop to all fields when barreled. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
