Nicholas Maffei is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 5-6 155 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Xaverian. Shorter compact build. Works from the stretch on the mound, early ball/glove separation that shows the ball early, low 3/4's arm slot with a sweeping extended arm action. Fastball worked up to 72 mph with some occasional running action. Maintained his arm speed well on his change up, also threw a soft curveball with some downward shape to it. 7.36 runner in the sixty. Throws from the same low arm slot from the outfield. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow and slightly open stance with a leg turn load to start his swing, limited lower half shift, has a short swing with a pretty accurate barrel. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
