Zack Qin is a 2024 LHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Nanjing, JS, China. Medium athletic build with plenty of projection remaining. Slow paced hands over head delivery, lands closed out front, low effort mechanics and release. Fastball topped out at 90 mph with a really low spin rate. Threw both a slider and curveball, harder slider had good shape and some depth, better pitch at present than the curveball. Also flashed a firm change up. Threw strikes and got quick outs. Chinese resident who was named to play in the PG All-American Classic but who signed with the Padres in early August.
