Mikey Watson is a 2027 3B/MIF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Steger, IL who attends Brother Rice. Long and lean athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. Very good runner, 6.57 in the sixty, speed has really jumped in the last year as he's got stronger. Primary infielder on defense, has active and fluid feet, bounce to his actions, gets to balls well and will have range, works into his throws well, soft hands that field the ball confidently and cleanly, still developing his arm strength and accuracy but has plenty of time for those repetitions. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a leg raise trigger, has a compact and direct swing with some bat speed, some lift out front to continue to develop, hits through the ball well and gets some jump, worked mostly gap to gap with good barrel accuracy, solid game swings. Very interesting athlete with a high ceiling. Good student. Named to the 2024 Sunshine Midwest Showcase Top Prospect List.
