Joseph Benevides is a 2026 C/MIF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from East Freetown, MA who attends Bristol-Plymouth Voc Tech. Works from a lean build and smaller frame with room to fill. Primary catcher, starts in a side saddled stance, gets out of the set fairly quickly, utilizes a longer arm path that works into an over-the-top release, bends at the waist on the follow through, delivered throws around the bag, recorded arm strength up to 66 mph and a pop time of 2.22. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow slightly open base with a high back elbow, utilizes a toe tap trigger and uphill bat path, lets the ball get deep in the zone, produced line drives back up the middle and to the opposite field, repeats the swing well, recorded an exit velocity of 72 mph. Ran an 8.14 sixty-yard dash. Great student.
