Carter Grant is a 2028 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Alameda, CA who attends Alameda. Recorded a 7.09 second sixty yard dash time. Larger frame. Primary left-handed pitcher works from a hybrid windup with a moderate side-step into a letter-high leg lift and gets down the slope well with a long, in-line stride down the mound. Gets down the slope well. The hands start at the letters before working to the belt and rising above the back shoulder and separating into a long arm action and accelerates through from a three- quarter arm angle. The fastball was upper-80s early and topped out at 85 before working mid-to-upper-70s to low-80s to work in the strike zone more consistently. Also showed a curveball (1975 RPM) in the upper-60s with good two-plane break with feel to land in the strike zone and was able to land it in the zone early. Also flashed a change-up (1378 RPM) in the upper-60s with developing feel for the pitch. Also worked out at first base with decent movements and a clean glove with accurate feeds. The left-handed hitter starts from a wider base with a high handset and a high back elbow, utilizes a small, quick leg lift. Quiet hands and tries to elevate to the middle-of-the-field and flashed some bat speed with some impact to the pull-side and the middle-of-the-field. Exciting player with good upside and a full starters mix on the mound.
