2023 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
John Graybeal is a 2024 C/RHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Colorado Springs, CO who attends Air Academy. Graybeal works from an athletic build with strength proportioned nicely throughout. As a primary C, he displayed sound footwork with ground gained, posting a 2.12 pop time. He repeated the compact arm action well and produced throws around the bag. On the mound, Graybeal worked from the full windup flashing a balanced operation while releasing from a clean 3/4 slot. He was efficient during his outing, mixing a bigger shaped CB to keep hitters honest with velocity on the FB up to 73 mph. He displayed reliable glove work at 1B and topped out at 75 mph across the diamond. Offensively, the righty started from an open stance with intent to stay level in the bat path and create line drive impact. There's further room to utilize the lower half and really bring out the power potential in the frame. Posted an exit velo of 77 mph. Ran a 7.62 sixty yard dash. Good student.
