Trace Turner is a 2026 C with a 5-8 188 lb. frame from Apex, NC who attends Wake Christian Academy. Well built frame with durability and muscle tone evident and more to come. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.16 seconds. Primary position catcher, working from a well-balanced primary stance sitting in comfortably behind the dish. Comes out of his crouch well as he gains ground in a clean line. Glove work is on point to midline transfer in efficient manner. Compact arm path with emerging strength building throws down to second up to 66 mph with a pop-time best 2.25 seconds. Comprehensive catchers skillset if the arm strength can make a jump. RHH working from an even stance getting into legs from the start with a good handset and very quiet pre-pitch operation. Simple turn and direct path to impact letting his strong hands deliver the barrel. Pull oriented approach where he will cut the swing off a bit here and there but there is strength present. Will see power play even better as he gets more extension through contact. Elite performer in the classroom as well.
