Evan Szumylo is a 2026 MIF/RHP/C with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from North Easton, MA who attends Oliver Ames. Features a lean/athletic build with quality projection. Ran a 6.78 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed developing actions. Aggressive to the baseball but with minimal body control. Quick feet get to his spots on time but shows late plunge into knees in fielding posture. Some stab to the glove actions working down late and a tad deep but fielded everything clean. Arm worked to a sidearm slot where he got off accurate throws across with avg. strength for his level. At the plate, sits in a wider base with an upright upper half. Uses a simple forward move where the hands drop back and where there's some drift into launch. Handsy swing where the barrel works flatter through with avg. bat speed for his level. Inconsistent barrel feel and timing during his BP round, best results were a couple hard shots into deep CF. On the mound, uses a shorter leg lift and pushes down the mound where he lands on-line. Arm works with medium length out the back and gets to a wristy side-arm/sub slot. Ran the FB up to 78 that showed some natural running/sinking action which helped get off barrels and produce weak contact. Mixed in an upper 60s SL that varied in shape, some slurvy and others more sweepy. Inconsistent control/command to start but settled in later and got in a rhythm.
