Jamie Johnson is a 2006 outfielder from Calhoun, LA with a lean build that shows good strength at 5-9, 174 lbs. He ran the 60 in 6.90 and threw 79 mph from the outfield during drills. Johnson's throwing mechanics are raw and his throws would improve immediately with some instruction. Johnson is a left handed batter with very good offensive potential. He has very quick hands and hips and an advanced ability to handle the bat head and make solid contact. Johnson is quick and short to the ball and drives the ball to all fields with some pop. He shows all the skills of a high average hitter who is going to pick up more than his share of extra base hits. Very good offensive prospect! Johnson is also an excellent student who has signed with Mississippi.
