LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2024 Great Lakes Prospect Gateway
Outfield:
- Focus on taking the feet directly to the baseball with direct and on-line footwork. This will allow for some momentum on the buildup that allows for a more on-line and fluid action through the release. Showed urgency at times; continue to work on staying on-line through it.
- Focus on staying through the entire motion well with a clean transfer. At times the arm was stabby through the back at separation, focus on staying fluid with a clean transfer around the chest as you work into the throwing motion.
- Showed some developing arm strength, with throws at 70 mph. Continued strength will come with age/maturity.
Hitting:
- A wider base with a higher back elbow and a bigger leg lift into contact. Swings hard with some loft to it, continue to focus on using strength to leverage and do damage in the air. Not swinging straight uphill, but rather matching planes and using the strength to lift the ball and create hard contact in the air.
- It was an aggressive move through contact, focus on staying on-time and connected through the swing. You want to shift the weight into it and stay on-time through heel-strike and contact.
- Continued improvements to bat speed and impact strength will come with age/maturity.
Chace, thanks for coming out to the 2024 Great Lakes Prospect Gateway event; you showed us some good swings in the batters' box. We look forward to seeing you at another PG event soon!
