Jordan Pries is a 2008 RHP/IF with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from Alameda, CA who attends Alameda HS. He has a mature, well proportioned build with some present strength, especially in his hips and thighs. Pries has a compact, easy delivery with a quick, compact arm action. His arm works smoothly and he repeats his delivery well. Pries is a very polished pitcher with command of three good pitches and the ability to use them in sequence. His fastball runs and sinks in the upper 80's and he pitches to both sides of the plate with his fastball. His upper 70's slider has a tight 2-plane break with good depth to it and he has good arm speed and late sinking action on a 77 mph change up. Pries doesn't project to develop into a power pitcher but he has all the pitches and skills now to be successful at the highest levels of the game. Pries is also a good athlete who is an above average defensive player at third base and a switch-hitter at the plate. He comes from a very prominent baseball family and you can tell that he has been around the game and understands how to play. Pries is also an outstanding student off the field.
