Jace Statum is a 2010 OF/P with a 5'8'', 161 lb. frame from Orangefield, TX who attends Orangefield HS. Compact tightly wound body, good present strength. Quick twitch athlete, 6.63 runner. Open stance, pull approach, short to the ball with extension out front, shows bat speed, patient hitter with a plan, occ hits around ball. Should have speed to play CF, solid arm strength. Also pitched, 84 mph fastball, hard CB spin. Nice all around talent and plays hard. Good student. Verbal commitment to Texas A&M.
