2004 National Showcase
Mark Willinsky is a strong well built 6'3/200 RHP from Las Vegas, NV. He is a power pitcher who topped out at 91 mph in Tropicana Field. He’s aggressive in the strike zone with his fastball and also throws a 76 mph curveball with a deep slurve type break. Reports are that he has been up as high as 94. His arm works nice and loose and he gets FB life. He threw much better with better balance and leverage out of the wind up tending to rush a bit out of the stretch. He also showed a good CB and an even better slider. He gets real good action on the slider. He threw one exceptionally good back door slider. He also dropped down at times. This is a good live power arm and he should be in big demand by top colleges. Pro scouts are going to follow him closely. Willinsky at mid 90s is a high pick. Mark is a very good student.
