Mycal Jones -- Jones is a slim 140 lb infielder with long arms and thin legs and calves. He looks like he has the frame to keep growing for a couple of years to come and put on a lot of good weight. Jones a 7.15 on the slow running track in Ft Myers, 4.43 down to first base and has a good first step. He will end up being a MLB average to above runner. He made hard contact in batting practice with a smooth swing and he has surprising hand strength for his size. Jones’ field actions are sound and his arm strength is playable for second base at the college level now and could improve a lot as he grows. He tends to drop his elbow on throws occasionally, causing the ball to sail on him, but other than that he is a solid all around player who projects very nicely.
