Matthew McPhearson is a 2013 OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Columbia, MD who attends Riverdale Baptist HS. Slender live bodied build. Outstanding runner, 6.22 in the 60, impact speed on the bases and in the outfield. Good outfield actions, sound footwork, very accurate on line throws. Left handed hitter, open to closes approach, quick hands, handles the barrel very well, has some pull power, can drive inside velocity, tends to reach outside and give up hands, swing mechanics fit tools well, still developing bunting skills. Plays hard, high energy player. Verbal commitment to Miami.
