Doug Beath is a 2011 C/1B with a 6'3'', 198 lb. frame from Barrington, IL who attends Barrington. Strong athletic build with broad shoulders, hits from both sides of plate, from the right hits from an open stance, showed good bat speed, simple approach, short compact swing with good extension, from the left side, quieter approach, same type bat speed, gap to gap power, can hit from both sides of plate, defensively, good OF actions, attacked the ball, behind the plate, plus arm strength, a little long on his release, but did pop a 2.00, very projectable behind the plate, showed athletic ability running a 6.95 sixty, good student.
