Colby Fitch is a 2014 C/OF with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Rocheport, MO who attends Columbia-Hickman HS. Stocky strong build, mature look. Left handed hitter, pull lift approach at the plate, short hard swing with bat speed and hand strength at contact, strength over looseness, squares up well and the ball jumps hard, will hit plenty of gap doubles at the next level, has the ability to pull and lift on occasion, can drive it to all fields, good game performance. Compact actions behind the plate, good exchange and release, nice arm strength with accurate throws, receives and blocks well in front of him, will have to continue to work on side to side agility and receiving, good runner for size at 7.02 and can play left field. Polished skill level and will perform immediately at the college level. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisville.
