Austin Godfrey is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Douglasville, GA who attends South Paulding HS. Strong compact build, especially in the lower half. Very good pitching mechanics, uses his lower half well, short quick arm action, high 3/4's arm slot, loose and fast out front, repeats well, bit cross body at release. Fastball topped at 85 mph, good downhill angle with some running action. Throws both a curveball and slider, hard slider with late bite best pitch but curveball is solid too with good 1/7 depth and spin. Throws strikes with change up with nice tailing action. Four pitch southpaw with good present stuff and command. Right handed hitter, simple quick swing mechanics from a crouched stance, consistent hard line drive contact, will hit to all fields, good balance. 7.22 runner, shows his athleticism in the outfield with good actions and strong, accurate throws. Very nice all round player. Named to the Top Prospect Team for this showcase.
