Joshua Smith is a 2015 LHP/1B with a 6-5 205 lb. frame from Saline, MI who attends Saline HS. Outstanding young pitcher's build, very nice physical projection. Full hands over head delivery, gets turned well with a big leg raise, slow pace, stays tall on his back side and works downhill, high 3/4's to over the top slot. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight with angle. Big breaking curveball with 1/7 depth, buckled a few left handed hitter's knees, can tight it up for more power and a different look, showed better command of curveball than fastball. Left handed hitter, big leg raise trigger, long levers, looks to pull the ball and swings hard, lots of raw bat speed and power potential with adjustments. Very interesting young pitcher with lots of projection. Good student, verbal commitment to Kentucky.
