Alex Perry is a 2014 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Syosset, NY who attends Syosset Senior HS. Medium frame with a lean athletic build. On the infield he showed very good actions. His footwork was solid and he does a nice job of getting himself in position to throw. He has a very strong arm. Registered 87 mph across the diamond in the IF workout. In the OF he also showed solid fundamentals and the arm strength carries over as he hit 92 mph during the OF workout portion. A right handed hitter, he has a wide balanced set up with a slight crouch. He has good bat speed and a middle of the field approach. Hit several hard line drives over the weekend. Also pitches, has a 3/4 arm slot with a fast arm. FB touched 86 mph and he has a nice feel for his SL. That SL topped out at 78 mph and had sharp late bite. Excellent athlete and was named to the top prospect list. Very good student as well.
