Ryan Mejia is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Alonso HS. Long and lean athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. Very good runner, 6.59 in the sixty. Right handed hitter, upper half hand generated swing, limited lower half use, has quick and strong hands, gets the barrel through the zone quickly, short to the ball, pull line drive contact, high extended finish, creates top spin, has the tools to continue to improve with additional strength and adjustments. Same lack of lower half involvement on defense, compact arm action, tall at release, centerfield speed and range. Outstanding student, verbal commitment to Florida State.
