Ethan Koehler is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-6 180 lb. frame from Ocoee, FL who attends West Orange HS. Big tall slender build. Very sound mechanics for his size and age, stays balanced above the rubber well, good tempo, 3/4's arm slot with good downhill angle, is a bit cross body on release, compact arm action, repeats well. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, will get both cutting and running action at times depending on location, consistent life, works down in the zone well and works both sides of the plate, ball seems to get on hitters quickly and velocity plays up, got lots of swing/miss on his fastball. Tends to drop elbow and slow arm on curveball at times, flashed good depth on the pitch. Development of off speed will be key. Good student. Named to the Showcase All Prospect Team.
