Jordan Abernathy is a 2014 3B/1B, OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from La Verne, CA who attends Damien. Large frame, strong athletic build, broad shoulders with some present strength. High level hitting tools, bat stood out. Good bat speed, aggressive swing, ball jumps when squared, good present power with potential for further development. Good balance and rhythm to swing, good incorporation of strong lower half into swing, creates loft, good plate coverage, sound mechanics. Long arm action on outfield throws, arm projects well, quick transfer and release from 3B, good 3B range and moves well laterally, good hands in the infield, picks throws well at 1B. Solid showing at three different positions defensively and bit time offensive tools. Good student.
