Cole Pilar is a 2016 C/3B, IF with a 5-7 190 lb. frame from Monrovia, CA who attends Flintridge Preparatory. Medium frame with good present build and overall strength throughout body. Switch hitter, sets up with spread stance, closed off a bit, easy swing from both sides with low tension. Swing is a bit more fluid and quick from left side, with good bat speed and gap to gap power from strength and natural lift in swing. Uses whole field from left side with developing pop. Light on feet defensively in the infield, loose/easy actions, solid arm strength across the diamond topping at 78 MPH on throws. Sets up well behind the plate, moves into throws well with good arm, has good defensive tools overall at the catcher position. Popped as low as 1.96 seconds on throws to 2B. Very good student.
