John Lamb is a 2008 LHP with a 6'4'', 185 lb. frame from Laguna Hills, CA who attends Laguna Hills HS. He has a long and lean frame that looks young and projects very well. Lamb throws from an easy, balance delivery with a loose and easy arm. Lamb lands closed and throws a bit across his body and will vary his arm slot from high 3/4's to mid 3/4's with little change in his raw stuff. Lamb is easy to project with his velocity but he has a finesse pitcher's approach to pitching now. He'll vary the speed on his fastball from 84-89 mph while changing release points, while getting good arm side run. He threw both a big, slow curveball in the low to mid 60's and a sweeping one plane slider depending on the hitter and situation and mixed in a fading change up at 69 mph. Lamb works all the angles and has a large velocity range on his pitches. It would be nice to see him with a harder breaking ball to fill in the upper 70's gap. Lamb is a good overall athlete with some hitting ability and projects very well. Keep a close eye on him.
