Taylor Cole is a 6' 160 pound 2007 shortstop and right handed pitcher from Las Vegas, Nevada who attends Bishop Gorman High School. He has an athletic build with a broad upper torso and a strong chest and has some projection to get even stronger in the future. During the workout, he ran a 7.37 60 and thre 84 mph across the infield. He has a good quick release and good carry on his throws across the diamond. Taylor is an aggressive middle infielder with good hands and footwork with the first step quickness to cover lots of ground. Cole has good bat speed and a compact swing that is short to the ball. He centers the ball very well and has a good idea with the bat who also shows some raw power. On the mound, Taylor throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a very loose quick arm out front. He has very good pure arm strength which he showed by topping out at 87 mph with his fastball which has good sink that is a result of throwing across his body. His breaking ball comes in from 70-72 mph is a good change of pace from his fastball. He has a feel for the strike zone with both pitches and is very aggressive towards hitters. Taylor is a solid two way prospect who is also a good student.
