Chase Evans is a 2015 RHP/OF/1B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends The Bolles HS. Tall thick athletic build, fairly mature. Tall and fall delivery, kicks lead leg out, somewhat cross body at release, high 3/4's arm slot, works downhill well. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 85 mph early, mostly straight. Slider shows good depth and tight spin, quality second pitch especially with a bit more power. Showed some two-way potential due to his powerful right handed bat, has bat speed with sound hitting mehcanics, gets rotational looking to pull the ball but pulls it hard, ball comes off the barrel hard with top spin. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida Gulf Coast.
