Justin Velazquez is a 2015 C/IF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Barceloneta, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Slender young athletic build. Versatile defensive player with athletic quickness, 6.97 runner. Compact arm action, quick exchange and release, tends to stand up to throw but still shows solid arm strength and carry, accurate throws, 1.97 best pop time. Also looks comfortable in the infield, quick hands at the ball with the same quick exchange and release. Right handed hitter, big wrap to start swing creates swing length, swings hard but will need to shorten barrel path, level thru the zone with mid-field line drive contact. Good student.
