Daniel Ritcheson is a 2017 RHP/OF, IF with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Chatsworth, CA who attends Bishop Alemany. Large frame with long, lean and projectable build. Plenty of room to develop, gain additional strength at physical maturity. Stays balanced well throughout delivery, with slight hip turn at apex of leg lift. Long, loose arm stroke, works to a 3/4's arm slot and lands online, although can occasionally pull and spin out at release. Fastball up to 89 mph, consistently in 85-88 mph range, pitch shows good life when located down in the zone. Advanced feel for three distinct offspeed pitches. Occasional low-70s curveball with hard downer action, 12/6 shape and good bite. Maintains solid armspeed on upper-70s slider with more 10/4 shape and late tilt, and flashes ability to turn over changeup with quality fading action in the same velocity band. Good feel for mixing pitches and developing command, projects well. Very good student.
