Nick Meyer is a 2017 C/ with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends St. Xavier High School. Medium frame with lean, athletic build. Primary catcher, looks the part behind the plate. Uses quick, compact arm-action, popped a 1.97 on throw to second base in defensive drills. Solid arm-strength, throws show some carry. Also plays infield, shows solid footwork and nice, soft hands with ability to consistently make routine plays, profiles well at second base. Right handed hitter, starts with narrow base and upright stance. Small leg lift trigger, when foot is down in time shows good ability to use entire field and keep hands inside the baseball. Developing strength and barrel utility. Also pitches, deliberate build up in windup with leg lift to just above the belt. Elongated arm action with developing arm speed, ran fastball up to 76 mph. Mixed in a loose upper-60's slider, shows ability to throw offering for strikes. Also flashes rare changeup in low-70s. Very good student.
