Josh Nathan is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from Randolph, NJ who attends Randolph High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lots of projection with room to fill throughout, has present strength to frame. Ran a 5.21 40-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, simple side step at start of delivery, shows a high leg lift with a slight hip coil at top of balance point. Incorporates lower half well in drive down mound, shows a full arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Works on top of fastball well and shows arm strength, topped out at 82 mph and attacked hitters, projects for additional velocity. On time with arm stroke, shows nice bite to curveball at 72 mph with 12-6 shape and late tumbling life on changeup with hard downward sink at 73 mph. Extra step on throws across diamond from first base, shows athleticism and body control to actions, very good carry and arm strength, fields the ball out front and shows fluidity to actions. righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Hands drop at start of swing, employs a contact oriented approach, full path through the zone and looks to pull the ball at contact, stays linear to point of contact. Excellent student.
