Jacob Pearson is a 2017 OF/1B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from West Monroe, LA who attends West Monroe HS. Strong athletic build, fairly mature physically. 6.62 runner, speed plays way up during games due to his motor, high energy approach to the game. Left handed hitter, fires his hips well, strong full swing with good separation and extension, very good barrel control and squares up consistently, ball comes off the barrel hard and he can drive it with back spin, consistently runs 4.1 or less to first base and will beat out lots of infield hits and turn doubles into triples. Moves to the ball aggressively in the outfield, good hands at the ball and sound fundamentals, arm strength is below average but has improved. Performance player who loves to play the game. Very good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
