Brandon McIlwain is a 2016 OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Newton, PA who attends Council Rock North HS. Outstanding athletic build, combines strength and quick twitch athleticism. 6.57 runner, young outfield actions, fields the ball cleanly with good hands and balance, tends to throw uphill with a short stride, good arm strength that will improve with coaching. Right handed hitter, exaggerated open stance, stays open with an early front side, upper half rotational swing, showed big bat speed and surprising feel for contact against quality pitching, big power potential, drove the ball to the pull side consistently. High level football quarterback prospect with a limited baseball background but has athleticism and innate baseball skills. Outstanding student, two sport verbal commitment to South Carolina. Named to the Perfect Game All-American Classic team.
