Max Helman is a 2018 RHP/ with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Wilton, CT who attends IMG Academy. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Works to balance with a smooth leg lift and utilized lower half well while driving to the plate. Lands at a slightly closed front side position and created some crossfire action at released from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Moved fastball to each edge of the plate consistently with good heavy actions and occasional running action to arm side in the low to mid 60's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Good arm speed through extension with a 10/4 curveball that had tight spin and sharp, late depth to the bottom of the zone. Aggressively attacked hitters and filled the zone throughout each inning of work while holding velocity. Good student. Named to the 2017 Sunshine Northeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
