Nick Olson is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 6-3 178 lb. frame from Smyrna, GA who attends Whitefield Academy. Large frame with a lean build and good room to fill out. Ran a 7.62 second 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, sits back on the ball in the infield and gets around it, funnels it deep with deliberate actions to release and some carry on throws clocked up to 78 mph across the diamond. Also pitches, stays tall on the back side and works downhill well with good arm speed; does a good job of working toward the bottom part of the zone as the fastball plays true while he shows feel for a pair of secondary offerings in a curveball and split-finger changeup. Right-handed hitter, sets up even with his hands tight to start; dips the back half to work on an uphill swing path and generate low line drive contact to the middle of the field with good timing. Swing should project with added strength. Good student.
