2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Jack Sutton is a 2019 3B/1B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Waynesville, NC who attends Tuscola High School. Medium frame, strong build, present strength, and compact lower half. Posted a 7.35 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary third basemen, showed accuracy across diamond with good footwork. Younger actions with developing arm strength. At the plate, started with an upright stance, open base, high hand set, high back elbow, and a simple leg lift timing mechanism. Showed hand quickness through the zone with a line drive swing plane. Repeated swing very well with a compact, direct to ball swing. Worked pull side well with good fluidity. Also pitched, worked from the first base side of the rubber, higher leg raise past belt, drop and drive element, compact arm action, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Good momentum down the mound with a pitch to contact mentality on the mound. Fastball worked 74-76 mph with short arm side life. Did very well in one inning of work and was incredibly efficient. Exceptional student.
