2016 Sunshine West Showcase
Carson Bridges is a 2017 C/MIF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Alameda, CA who attends St Joseph Notre Dame HS. Bridges has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He showed good receiving skills behind the plate and blocked well in the games portion of the showcase. Bridges has very quick transfers and release on his pop throws. He throws from his ear and he put the ball on the bag well. Bridges is a switch hitter with the same approach from both sides of the plate. From the left side he starts with a slightly open stance with a wide base. He has some weight shift to his swing and has a longer smooth swing. He has a middle of the field approach and made solid contact. From the right side he's not quite as fluid and has developing barrel feel. Excellent student.
