Jayce Gardner is a 2016 OF/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Arbor View HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean and projectable frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.98 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and comes through it nicely, big gather behind ball with full arm action, quick and loose arm action, occasionally gets under throws but shows nice carry and accuracy when on top. Also pitched, shows a balanced delivery with a leg lift to belt and full hand path leading to a short and quick arm action with three-quarter release. Short stride down mound, gets some running life to arm side on fastball that topped 81 mph, nice feel for curveball at 72 mph, 11-5 shape with depth from same slot. Flashed fading life to changeup. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and medium hand set. Sound contact approach in box, short to ball with long finish through swing, small leg lift trigger and shows feel for barrel. Slight uphill to swing but creates steady line drive contact to the middle and pull side parts of field with repeatable mechanics. Good student.
