Robbie Ross is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Nicholasville, KY who attends Lexington Christian Academy. He has a relatively small build but is strong and highly athletic. He resembles a bit taller version of Mike Hampton with the same type of athleticism. Ross has a balanced, direction delivery that he repeats well and makes his release seem pretty effortless. His arm is loose and free and he gets it going really fast. He throws 90-92 mph pretty consistently and has done so for some time. Ross's slider is a potential plus pitch and has the same type of consistency that his fastball does. It tops out at 82 mph with a sharp, late break. Ross's 83 mph change up gives him a third potential plus pitch. He has command of both his secondary pitches and uses them with confidence in carving up hitters. If Ross was 6-3, his name would be circulated among the top 2-3 left handers in the country.
